White Gold Diamond Rings

Just wanted to know what’s more desirable between a white gold band and a yellow gold band for an engagement or wedding ring. In this case, we’ve been married over 20 years and my wife’s wedding ring is yellow gold from years ago, which she still has and mine is a matching yellow gold, but she lost the diamond from her engagement ring (also was yellow gold) years ago and I’m thinking of surprising her and replacing it with a diamond ring with white gold, which I heard is more contemporary these days. But I heard we should not mix and match between the two (one is yellow gold while the other is white gold and vice-versa) because it may not look right when wearing both. But white gold seems to be more popular these days. Should we just change both our wedding bands as well if I got her a white gold replacement diamong ring? The jeweler suggested I get a yellow band "enhancer" (basically another band or ring) that houses or surrounds the white gold band with the diamond, kind of blending the two colors together, but that’s spending more than I want, almost doubling what I planned to spend. Or should I just go back and exchange the one I got for one with yellow gold? (Yes, I already got the diamond ring with the white gold already even though her wedding band from years ago is yellow.) Bt seems yellow is outdated these days. I’m stuck and don’t know what to do. Need your advice and/or feedback. Thanks!

I’m planning to buy a diamond ring. I’m confused between white gold and yellow gold, i like both of them, but i’ve heard white gold is in these days and youngsters prefer it over white gold. Can you all help me decide by giving me the +ve’s and -ve’s of both??

I forgot to take my small diamond/white gold ring out of the cleaner before I left for spring break. Will sitting in the cleaner so long ruin it?

The rings are white gold. One diamond only on the engagement ring. There are half circles along the edges of the bands. There is a solid middle between the half circles that is etched. There is a matching groom’s band. We both have lost our rings and I would like to purchase another set if possible. We purchased at a Gold’s Department store in Lincoln NE in 1972.

I have a white gold diamond ring that needs cleaning. What’s the best way to clean it so its shinny and sparkle again? Keep in mind that I don’t have any jewelery cleaning solutions. I rather clean it using home remedy type of solutions that will not tarnish or mess up the ring in any way.

I want a square cut solitaire diamond ring for xmas and my bf is getting one for me but within a budget of around 0. I was wondering why all the round shaped ones cost so much less than the square ones. Also any tips in choosing the right ring? I don’t like gold but silver or white gold is fine. I’ve been trying for months to get decent photos of my white gold diamond rings. I’m currently using a 40cm light tent, with two daylight bulbs on the outside (105w – the massive ones). The problem i’m faced with is that I want a pure white background on the photos, but the white gold/diamond seems to merge with the background.. i’m aiming to get photos like:

(that is before any editing in photoshop to get the background whiter, using curves etc..)

the picture then ends up losing clarity and blending with the background.. ive tried changing the levels but to no avail.. is there anything wrong with the photo or equipment setup?
i’m using a dslr nikon d50 with a macro lens and tripod. f/32 and different shutter speeds with lowest iso and manual focus..

any help would be appreciated (but please dont link me to obvious google searches as ive tried them endlessly)
